A day after the 74-year-old mother of baseball Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. was abducted from her home, Violet Ripken was returned safely Wednesday morning. Police say that a man with a gun forced Ripken out of her home In Aberdeen, MD, and into her 1998 Lincoln Towncar Tuesday morning, stole her credit cards, and drove around with her in the passenger seat. She was discovered unharmed in her car near her home. Police say there was no ransom demand, indicating that the abductor might not have known the woman was the former Baltimore Oriole’s mother.
