Robert De Niro got one of the biggest ovations at Sunday night’s Tony Awards by taking to the stage to say “Fuck Trump”—twice. Appearing at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, De Niro, who’s long been a vocal critic of the president, said: “I’m gonna say one thing: Fuck Trump.” As the audience rose to their feet in applause, De Niro continued: “It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump.’ It’s fuck Trump.” The show was broadcast live, so CBS had time to bleep out the expletive for U.S. television audiences, but the uncensored version aired in Australia. At the event, Best Play was won by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two, Best Musical was awarded to The Band’s Visit, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role went to Glenda Jackson for Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women.
