Another woman has come forward to accuse Russell Simmons of sexual assault, alleging in a $5 million lawsuit filed Wednesday that the hip-hop mogul “pounced on her” at his Los Angeles home in 2016. The woman, identified as aspiring filmmaker Jennifer Jarosik, is the sixth accuser to level such claims against the Def Jam Recordings co-founder. In court documents, Jarosik alleges Simmons had offered to help her produce a documentary and invited her over before asking her to have sex. She claims Simmons “pounced on her while she was still in shock and fear, and proceeded to rape her” after she said no. Simmons has denied the allegations and said he looks forward to having his “day in court,” where “the full truth will be known.” Five other women have accused Simmons of sexual assault since the Harvey Weinstein scandal opened the floodgates in the entertainment industry last year.
