With tension still high on the Korean peninsula following the death of North Korea’s Kim Jong-il, a civilian delegation led by South Korea’s former first lady made a visit to Pyongyang to pay respects. Lee Hui-ho, the wife of late Nobel Peace Prize-winning President Kim Dae-jung, is scheduled to view Kim laying in state. It’s not clear whether her delegation will meet with Kim Jong-un, the dictator’s son and heir. South Korea’s government has issued its condolences—and signed off on Lee’s visit—will not send an official delegation. Menawhile, Kim Jong-un gained a new title on Monday: head of the nation’s Workers’ Party.
