Megachurch Fights Ouster From Southern Baptist Convention

The California megachurch founded by Rick Warren, which was drummed out of the Southern Baptist Convention for having a woman in a senior pastor role, plans to appeal the decision. Saddleback Church is one of five congregations that were disfellowshipped over the gender issue. It will make its case at an annual meeting in New Orleans, where thousands of delegates will vote on whether to let the the decision stand.
