Dr. Sanjay Gupta loves pot and he doesn’t care who knows it. In the famed neurosurgeon’s new documentary, Weed, he embarks on a pot pilgrimage that ends in him changing his stance on medical marijuana. Gupta claims that he and others who spoke out against it were “systematically misled” by the DEA, which classifies the drug as “highly abusive.” After watching patients across the globe benefit from it, he’s changed his mind. “[I’ve] come to the realization that it is irresponsible not to provide the best care we can ... care that could involve marijuana.” Gupta now plans to make it his mission to “genuinely and honestly” spread knowledge about the positive effects of marijuana.
