Luxury jewelry designer Kat Florence has filed a lawsuit against Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, accusing the actress of breaching an endorsement deal with the line. According to court documents first published by The Blast and viewed by The Daily Beast, in March 2016, Parker wore $150,000 worth of Kat Florence jewelry during a photoshoot for the brand. At the end of the day, Parker borrowed the pieces, and has yet to return them, the lawsuit states. In a statement provided to The Daily Beast, Ira Schreck, Parker’s lawyer, said: “This is just plain false. SJP was under contract to Kat Florence and was asked to keep the jewelry so that she could wear it on red carpets and other events when appropriate. Sarah Jessica Parker is as honest and trustworthy a person as anyone I have ever met. She has never and would never hold onto anything belonging to someone else. In fact, she has been asking ever since Kat Florence wrongfully stopped paying her to have the pieces returned, but Kat Florence didn’t seem terribly interested in getting them back.” Parker’s publicist went on to clarify that the actress and clothing designer is waiting for the brand to “send someone” to pick up the jewelry. Reps for Kat Florence were not immediately available to comment. Parker has filed a counterclaim to the designer’s original complaint.
