White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Monday accused reporters of “putting national security at risk” when they publish classified information, in a deflection against a question about a former White House aide accused of physically abusing his ex-wives. The remark came directly in response to a question about how the White House handles security clearances for top officials, after it was revealed that ex-aide Rob Porter was operating on an interim clearance while the FBI was looking into allegations of domestic abuse. “If you guys have real concerns about leaking out classified information, look around this room,” Sanders said. “You’re the ones that publish classified information and put national security at risk. That doesn't come from this White House.”
