White House press secretary Sarah Sanders will be assigned a Secret Service detail to protect her private residence temporarily, sources told CNN. The security detail could start protecting Sanders as soon as Wednesday, but sources did not specify how long the arrangement would last. Sanders was denied service and kicked out of a Virginia restaurant called the Red Hen over the weekend because she works for President Trump, she announced on her Twitter. The incident has sparked disagreements about civility and the right for people to protest Trump administration officials while they’re out in public, with Democratic members of Congress taking opposite sides of the debate. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) recently pushed for her supporters to harass Trump officials in public, a move that drew condemnation from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). During a press briefing Monday, Sanders said the “calls for harassment and push for any Trump supporter to avoid the public is unacceptable.”
