Hulu announced Monday that it has ordered a 10-episode series, tentatively titled I Love You, America, to be hosted by comedian Sarah Silverman and produced by Funny or Die. The "weekly half-hour topical show" will focus on the "current political/emotional landscape of the country," according to a press release from the company. Silverman will serve as an executive producer, along with Funny or Die's Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and Silverman's manager Amy Zvi. "From inciting treason to telling poop jokes, Sarah Silverman has created her fair share of online chatter, but with this show she's looking to connect with people who may not agree with her personal opinions through honesty, humor, genuine interest in others, and not taking herself too seriously," the logline reads. While not quite a "late-night" show, Silverman would join Samantha Bee and Chelsea Handler as one of a small but growing number of women hosting politically-minded topical programs.
