Selena Gomez just clapped back at her ex big-time—even more so than when she admitted to making the CK-lovin’ Canadian cry on Letterman.
The pop star posted a comment under a Justin Bieber Instagram photo that reads, “Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All Love.”
Gomez further commented, “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol—it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.” Then Bieber replied, “It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love.”

Bieber, for those not keeping track, has been enjoying his summer—first palling around with rumored girlfriend Hailey Baldwin (daughter of Stephen, niece of Alec), then pictured frolicking in the nude with Instagram model Sahara Ray, and finally, for the past week or so, hangin’ with Sofia Richie, the 17-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie (and sister of Nicole). Bieber is 22, so this new coupling isn’t exactly legal in his home state of California.Anyway, fans have not taken kindly to Bieber’s new choice of partner, and began bombarding the Instagram photos he posts of them together with snake emojis and hateful comments—about the same level of Insta-vitriol that the Beyhive levied against Rachel Roy, otherwise known as “Becky with the Good Hair.” Bieber responded with a message to his rabid online fan army, known as “Beliebers,” by posting a photo of him and Richie along with the following warning:“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people I like.”
Gasp! The Beliebers, who’ve stood by their Biebz through arrests, eggings, capuchin monkey abandonment, a few shitty albums (though Purpose is fire), and general teen dickishness, did not take kindly to being called out, or being referred to as mere “fans.” So they came for Bieber on social media, posting image after image of them unfollowing him on Instagram and lamenting how he’s changed from someone who was always there for them to a hater. It got so intense that the hashtag #RIPBeliebers was a top trending topic on Twitter for most of the day Sunday.
As for Gomez, well, rumors of Bieber cheating on her during their on-off relationship have persisted for ages. Things got particularly thorny when Bieber allegedly made a play for Orlando Bloom’s ex-wife, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, leading to Legolas throwing a haymaker at the pop prince in Ibiza, and later, since apparently the message didn’t connect hard enough, hooking up with Gomez himself.
In an interview earlier this year with GQ, Bieber seemed to hint at the fact that his latest album Purpose, filled with apologetic ditties, was about his messy breakup with Gomez. “People ran with that—that I was, like, apologizing with the song and stuff [for my misdeeds]. It really had nothing to do with that,” he said. “No. It was about a girl.”
“Everyone, when they start growing up, realizes, ‘Man, I did some dumb shit when I was younger,’” Bieber continued. “It’s not just me.… If I could go back, I wouldn’t really change much. I think it’s all my journey. That stuff made me who I am.”
