By a vote of 84 to 13, the U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Jerome Powell to be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. The former investment banker and Treasury Department official will succeed Janet Yellen next month. Powell, 64, is not likely to dramatically change course from Yellen’s tenure, as the economy is growing and interest rates are being raised ever so slightly.
