In defiance of the White House, the Senate passed a $612 billion defense policy bill on Thursday which would arm Ukraine forces and make it harder to close the terror suspects’ prison at Guantanamo Bay. President Obama has threatened to veto the bill, which passed the Senate with a vote of 71-25. The bill would also provide a 2.3 increase in pay for U.S. service members and create a system for troops to get retirement money before the requisite 20 years.
