On Tuesday, Dr. Mehmet Oz found himself being bashed by Senator Claire McCaskill for hawking "miracle" weight-loss products that don't have scientific backing. “I don’t get why you need to say this stuff because you know it’s not true,” the Democrat from Missouri told Oz during a Senate panel about businesses selling fake Oz-approved products. “The scientific community is almost monolithically against you in terms of the efficacy of the three products you called ‘miracles.’” Oz replied that he hopes viewers lean toward healthier choices. "When I can't use language that is flowery, that is exulting, I feel like I've been disenfranchised," he said.
