Canadian environmentalist Rebecca Rubin was sentenced to five years in prison for contributing to 20 fires across the western part of the U.S. that caused $40 million in damage. U.S. But in addition to the prison time, District Court Judge Ann Aiken said during sentencing on Monday that Rubin must read Malcolm Gladwell’s David and Goliath, so she can learn non-violent means of protesting the man. It is unclear which part of Rubin’s sentence will be more painful.
