If Trump can convince himself that he repealed Obamacare, what else could we make him believe?

In his final “A Closer Look” segment of 2017, Seth Meyers said he’s finally figured out how to trick Donald Trump into resigning from the presidency.

As his first year in office comes to an end, President Trump has embarked on what the Late Night host described as a “delusional self-congratulation” spree, claiming not only that he came up with the terms “tax cuts” and “fake,” but also insisting that his administration “has accomplished more than any other administration in history.”

“You passed one bill!” Meyers told Trump. “And people are so enthusiastic about you that Alabama elected a Democratic senator. And he’s so enthusiastic about you that he’s going to be a guest on this show tonight.”

“But it wasn’t just the giant corporate tax cut that Trump celebrated yesterday,” Meyers added. “The GOP bill also repeals Obamacare’s individual insurance mandate.” If you listen to Trump, however, you would think the Affordable Care Act had been completely repealed.

“Now, Trump hasn’t repealed Obamacare,” the host clarified. “But I say we let him think he’s repealed Obamacare so he stops trying.”

Meyers then explained how this approach could work with everything Trump has promised or proposed. “All we have to do is get someone to show him a photo of the Great Wall of China, tell him it’s a Mexican border and he’ll say, ‘I did it.’”

“And while we’re at it, we’ll bake him a cake that says, ‘Congrats on a great eight years,’” he concluded. “Then he’ll pack his shit and get out of our lives forever!”
