Seth Meyers Hammers Glenn Beck for Shameless 180 on Trump

‘DIVORCED SANTA CLAUS’

After trying to ‘rebrand’ himself as anti-Trump, Glenn Beck finally ‘dropped the act’ this week.

Seth Meyers used his latest “A Closer Look” segment Thursday night to highlight some one-time conservative Trump critics who seem to be “falling in line” with the president as the 2020 election approaches.

In addition to Texas Republican Will Hurd, who went on a friendly road trip with Beto O’Rourke in 2017 but now says he will be voting for “the Republican nominee” in 2020, Meyers zeroed in on former Fox News host Glenn Beck.

Following the 2016 election, the former Fox News host became an unexpected voice of reason on the right, telling The New York Times that Trump “could be one of the most dangerous presidents to ever come into the Oval Office” and teaming up with liberal late-night host Samantha Bee “against Trumpism.”

As Meyers noted, Beck spent years as “one of the most unhinged voices on Fox,” using his signature chalkboard to “prove” that President Obama was a dangerous dictator. Even after his apparent “change of heart,” the host added, “many suspected this was all just an act to rebrand himself.”

“And when he went on Fox News this week to talk about 2020,” Meyers continued, “he finally dropped the act.”

After calling Trump the last real “male role model” on his TheBlaze TV show earlier this month, Beck completed his transition back to full-on Trump supporter when he said on Fox that if the Republicans don’t win in 2020, “we are officially at the end of the country as we know it.”

Pulling out his own chalkboard, Meyers used the words “Fox News” and “United States” to spell out a secret message to Beck: “F.U.”

“Nobody wants to take political advice from divorced Santa Claus over here,” he added. “And we can tell he’s pandering to Trump because he’s starting to dress like the Colonel.”
