Another glimpse into Michael Cohen’s wheeling and dealing has come from the unlikely source of Seth Meyers. The Late Night host claims that Cohen bizarrely attempted to negotiate an on-air apology as a precondition of Donald Trump appearing on his show—a request that was obviously denied. Trump wanted an apology for Meyers’ savage roast of Trump at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where he famously said: “Trump has been saying he will run for president as a Republican, which is surprising, since I just assumed he was running as a joke.” Speaking on Politico’s Off Message podcast, Meyers revealed the bizarre demand and said that he continued to believe Trump was running as a joke “right up to the moment where he won.”
