Several Stabbed in Tel Aviv Bus Attack

VIOLENCE IN ISRAEL

Suspect shot and arrested.

Israeli police shot and arrested a Palestinian man who stabbed at least 10 people on a bus in central Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, officials said. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said authorities are treating it as a “terror attack” and four people suffered moderate or serious injuries, according to his Twitter account. Police identified the attacker as a Palestinian from the West Bank and said he entered Israel illegally. The attacker tried to flee the scene after stabbing people inside the bus, including the driver, and was wounded in the leg before he was apprehended by officers from a nearby prison service who witnessed the incident. Over the past few months, about a dozen people have been killed in Palestinian attacks in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and the West Bank. The assailant is in custody and police are questioning him, authorities said.
