Did a sluggish start doom Sha’Carri Richardson in the women's 100m final at the Paris Olympics? According to the New York Post, it did. The Post says Richardson took .221 seconds to get out of the blocks after the gun, losing precious milliseconds that she was unable to make up against Saint Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred, who took gold in 10.72, 0.15 seconds ahead of the world champion American. Richardson, 24, who missed out on the Tokyo Games three years ago after testing positive for cannabis, didn’t stop to do any interviews after claiming silver—which certainly suggests she was hoping for gold. But Richardson took to Instagram Sunday to post a photo of herself draped in the American flag with three silver heart emojis as the caption. Fans took to the comments to share their support for the track star. “GOAT,” wrote one fan. “Keep shining your light!” wrote another.
