The World Health Organization declared Sierra Leone officially free of Ebola transmissions on Saturday after 42 days had passed without a new case. Nearly 4,000 people have died from the Ebola outbreak and 14,000 were infected. The country will now begin a 90-day period of surveillance to detect if any new cases arise. Ebola is still rampant in Guinea where the outbreak began.
