A Sinclair Broadcasting-owned station in Madison, Wisconsin, opted not to run a controversial corporate-mandated promo script decrying “fake news” and “media bias” in Trumpian fashion. “WMSN/FOX47 Madison did not air the Sinclair promotional announcement during our 9 p.m. news this weekend,” the channel tweeted Monday evening. “Rather, we stayed true to our commitment to provide our Madison area viewers local news, weather, and sports of interest to them.” The right-leaning media conglomerate delivered the script to its nearly 200 local television stations, mandating each network read aloud the promo blasting “biased and fake news.” President Trump on Monday defended Sinclair, calling it “far superior to CNN.”
