The big question heading into this week’s Dave Chappelle-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live was whether he would revive any of his old Chappelle’s Show characters. As he said during the episode, he wasn’t going to. But then he saw the most recent episode of The Walking Dead.
The taped sketch that followed found several of Chappelle’s most iconic characters assembled together and preparing for death by the bat of The Walking Dead’s Negan (also played by Chappelle). There was Silky Johnson, his white news anchor Chuck Taylor, Lil’ Jon, and even an appearance by Donnell Rawlings.
But the undeniable highlight was the return of Clayton Bigsby, Chappelle’s blind black white supremacist character. Asked if he realizes he’s black, Bigsby said, “From what I hear, this hat would say otherwise,” as he slipped a “Make America Great Again” cap on his head. “Trump’s America now, boy!” he yelled.

But it was left to the decapitated head of crackhead Tyrone Biggums to deliver a message of hope to America:
“That is how we as a nation begin to heal, through laughing together,” he said. “For even though our country seems irrevocably severed like a man from his head, let my example prove that we should continue to move forward. Let us see ourselves in one another, for only empathy can conquer hate. I am every man. I am every woman. It’s all in me. Anything you want done, baby, I do it naturally.”
