The world’s tallest observation wheel is up and running! Beating the London Eye for the top spot, Las Vegas’ 550-foot High Roller opened to the public on Monday, adding one more attraction to the tourist delights of Sin City. "It's really an art piece on the Las Vegas skyline, from the dynamic lighting sequences to the overall engineering and architecture that it adds to the skyline," Jon Gray, vice president and general manager of the Linq, the open-air dining, retail, and entertainment district where the High Roller is located, told USA Today. "It's a new icon that everyone, locals and tourists alike, have embraced. We've really enhanced the Las Vegas skyline." At night, 2,000 LED lights illuminate the wheel, transforming it into a giant kaleidoscope. The 28-cabin structure offers 360-degree views can accommodate over one thousand people and is even available for private parties.
