Everyone probably wanted the iPad anyway. Sony has stopped sales of its Xperia tablet, which first went on sale in the United States on Sept. 7 and was then released elsewhere in the world. The new tablet is supposed to be water-resistant, but a manufacturing defect left the tablets susceptible to water damage. One hundred thousand tablets have already been shipped, but the company says it will fix any that have already been sold.
