Tactical vest? Check. Law enforcement cap? Check. SWAT team? Check. Hair and makeup? Check and double check. Dressing as “ICE Barbie” became the fashion look for the discerning MAGA woman this week as Kristi Noem, Donald Trump’s new homeland security secretary, turned an immigration raid into a fashion shoot in The Bronx, New York, on Tuesday.
Now South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace has joined the trend, albeit with a smaller camera crew: She appeared to record her Friday morning ICE ride-along on her own phone.
But she made up for the rudimentary recording with a breathless, foul-mouthed description of the raid that she says she saw unfold before her eyes—but which she did not apparently film.
“Rise and shine, cupcakes,” Mace announced in a viral video posted to her X account, declaring, “We’re headed out with ICE this morning.”
The perp walk-catwalk crossover appears to be the latest spin-off for Mace’s personal reality show as she, like Noem, used the ICE raid as a political prop to stir up her base.
“Long barreled rifles. Guns were drawn,” alleged Mace. “We are watching them take the suspect out now… what they are doing to get these illegals and these drug dealers killing American people off our streets.”
In another part of the clip, she added, “You came here illegally. You’re distributing fentanyl. Get the f--- out.”
The immigration raid Mace joined was in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and was executed without notifying local authorities, reported Count On News 2.
“We’re not just talking about deporting illegal aliens—we’re out here seeing it in action for ourselves—firsthand,” Mace tweeted with her clip. “South Carolina needs bold leadership to support President Trump’s America First agenda deporting the bad guys and putting our people first.”
Yet while some commentators seemed to commend Mace’s “bravery” online, others cast doubt on the veracity of her account of the ride-along.
“I’ll take things that never happened for $1,000 lol,” wrote one commentator. To which, Mace responded, “What did not happen this morning? Pray tell… since you were not there…”
Extreme right-winger and failed Missouri politico Valentina Gomez, who has shared multiple videos of her shooting guns, and setting prop dummies on fire, seemed to call into question the context of Mace’s account.
“Nancy, you don’t need a ballistic plate carrier because you’re just watching from a safe distance,” Gomez wrote. “Hypocrite.”
