Torrential rains in South Korea triggered landslides around Seoul, killing at least 32 people. Among the dead are 10 college students who were doing volunteer work in Chuncheon, a town outside the capital. In southern Seoul, at least 16 people died when mud covered homes at the foot of a mountain. The rain also flooded hundreds of houses prompted the government to shut down two major highways. About 15 inches of rain fell in Seoul in 17 hours, and more than 10 inches fell on Chuncheon in the last two days.
