Andy Whitfield, the star of the hit Starz drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand, died Sunday at the age of 39 of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Whitfield, who was Welsh, stepped down before the show’s second season after learning of his illness and returned to his home in Sydney. Whitfield’s wife, Vashti, said in a statement that “our beautiful young warrior” died in her arms.
