The State Department is offering $1 million for information leading to the “identification or location” of Osama bin Laden’s son. According to a press release, Hamza bin Laden is an emerging al Qaeda leader. Hamza has allegedly released audio and video messages on behalf of the group since August 2015, calling for his followers to “launch attacks against the United States and its Western allies.” According to the State Dept., he has also threatened to attack the U.S. as revenge for American military members killing his father in 2011. From letters gathered from Osama’s Pakistan compound after he was killed, the U.S. learned he was grooming his son to replace him as the terror group’s leader. In addition, Hamza allegedly married the daughter of the “lead hijacker and a mastermind” of the 9/11 attacks.
