Showtime has ordered 10 episodes of a new, as-yet-untitled half-hour animated show from executive producer Stephen Colbert that will focus on a cartoon version of President Donald Trump and premiere this fall. "Cartoon Donald Trump" has been a fixture on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for about a year, including a memorable appearance on the host's Emmy-nominated Election Night special. "I know a lot of people wanted to do this, and I'm honored that the Cartoon President invited our documentary crew into his private world,” Colbert said in a statement. “I've seen some of the footage, and I look forward to sharing the man behind the MAGA." The network is promising a "swift" turnaround for the episodes in order to stay relevant to the fast-moving Washington news cycle.
