White House adviser Stephen Miller reportedly said he would be “happy” if not another refugee stepped foot in the United States, according to a new tell-all book about the Trump White House. The Associated Press, which obtained a copy of Cliff Sims’ Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House, reports that Miller told Sims, “I would be happy if not a single refugee foot ever again touched American soil.” According to the book, Miller—who reportedly pushed for stricter immigration policies within the administration—also wanted a White House press release to be issued every time a refugee or immigrant committed a “gruesome” crime. The White House and Miller did not respond to the AP’s request for comment. Sims’ book, due to hit shelves on Tuesday, also claims Trump wanted his Disney presidential animatron to say he invented the skyscraper.
