Days after being randomly punched in the face by an unknown assailant in New York City, actor Steve Buscemi was spotted in Soho this weekend with a black eye and visible bruises on his chin. Pictures taken Saturday evening showed the prolific actor chatting with production crew members while on set of a commercial he was filming in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood. On Wednesday, the Brooklyn-born performer was violently slugged in the face while walking in Kips Bay with a friend and had to seek treatment for his injuries at Bellevue Hospital. He later said through his publicist that he was “ok” while recovering from his injuries, though “incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to while also walking the streets of New York.” Coincidentally, Buscemi was the second Boardwalk Empire actor to fall victim to unprovoked street violence in NYC this year—in March, co-star Michael Stuhlbarg was attacked by a random assailant with a rock while he was out on a run on the Upper East Side.
