Steve Carell, the funnyman from The Office, is officially returning to television, as he joins the cast of Apple’s currently untitled morning-show drama. Carell will star alongside Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the show, which Apple has already picked up for two seasons with a 20-episode order. Carell will play Mitch Kessler, a morning-show anchor who is struggling to maintain relevance in a changing media landscape. The role marks Carell’s first regular series role since his departure from The Office in 2011. A premiere date is currently unknown.
