This week’s award for most talked-about New York oddity goes to the dead shark found riding the N train to Queens late Tuesday night. Now, it appears, the mystery of the smelly subway rider from the sea has been solved. One beachgoer named Domenick says he saw the sad shark on Coney Island before it was taken onto the train. “Our neighbor and my kids took some pictures with it, and then a guy took the shark with him,” Domenick wrote to Gothamist. “We were cracking up when we saw it on the news. We said, ‘That’s our shark!’” Well, now it’s the city’s shark, Domenick.
