A man suspected of fatally shooting two police officers in Palm Springs, California, was arrested early Sunday morning, 12 hours after the initial incident. Two officers were killed and one other was wounded while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Saturday. The suspect, John Felix, 26, began shooting when the officers approached the home. Police Chief Bryan Reyes identified the officers as Lesley Zerebny, the mother of a 4-month-old baby, and Jose Gilbert “Gil” Vega, who planned on retiring from the force in December after 35 years.
