Synchronized swimmer, free diver and influencer Kristina Makushenko has amassed more than 100,000 likes on an Instagram video where she reenacts the much-ridiculed breakdance routine from Australia's Rachael Gunn at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Gunn, who competed under the name of “Raygun,” received zero points for her moves, which were widely derided—and subsequently widely memed; Makushenko’s performance, meanwhile, is worthy of tens across the board for its faithful recreation of all the flopping, flailing, hopping and most appropriate fish-wiggling moments. Oh, and she’s also in high heels. (Makushenko’s social media ‘brand’ is, in large part, centered around her underwater ensembles, from cocktail dresses to roller skates.) In a humblebrag note included in her video’s caption, the Russia-born, Florida-based performer claimed it only took her “5 minutes to learn” the routine, and teased that she should be afforded the opportunity to take part at the 2028 Olympics. Sure, why not?
