Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) on Tuesday announced that she is expecting her second child, a daughter. She will be the first sitting senator to give birth while in-office. Duckworth, 49, now a little over six months pregnant, says she feels “great.” Her daughter, Abigail, was born while Duckworth was a member of the House. Only ten members of Congress have ever given birth while in office, three of whom have gone on to the Senate: Duckworth, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and former Sen. Blanche Lambert Lincoln (D-AR).
