As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Florida State University star quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL draft on Thursday. The team’s coach, Lovie Smith, and General Manager Jason Licht say they spent the pre-draft season investigating Winston, who was accused of sexual assault in 2013, but cleared of wrongdoing by police and Florida State.
