McCain responded to the bright orange star on Twitter: "@Sn00ki u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed!" he tweeted last Wednesday. "Pres Obama's tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!"

In the new movie Please Give, Amanda Peet plays an alcoholic skin-care specialist whose specialty seems to be tanning. As fake as it looks, this role gave Peet a chance for her to fulfill a lifelong dream. As a kid, she wanted to be the island-bound Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon. "I'm not sure why I was so mesmerized by it, and by her,” she has said, “But the most compelling part for me was how tan she was. That's right, I really wanted to be tan all the time. Soon enough, this segued into wanting to become an actress.”
