Ted Cruz: Trucks Can Also Kill People

In a Monday afternoon press conference, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz accused gun control advocates of “politicizing” the Sutherland Springs shooting, which killed 26 people and injured 20 more. Cruz pointed out that other objects can be used to kill people. “I would note in New York just this week, we saw a terror attack with a truck,” Cruz said in reference to an incident last week, in which a man ran over pedestrians and cyclists with a truck, killing eight. The man had fake guns, which were not used in the attack. New York City has since installed barriers on the bike lane where the attack occurred, preventing future vehicle attacks. "Evil is evil is evil," Cruz said.
