Ted Cruz Will Renounce Canadian Citizenship

Sen. Ted Cruz said in a statement Monday he will renounce his Canadian citizenship after a newspaper pointed out that he may still be a dual citizen. According to legal experts, Cruz is technically a citizen of Canada, since he was born there. Perhaps it’s because Cruz may be running for president in 2016 that he wanted to clear the air—even after his spokesman denied the claim. “Now The Dallas Morning News says that I may technically have dual citizenship,” he said. “Assuming that is true, then sure, I will renounce any Canadian citizenship.”
