One month before the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ seminal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Capitol Records released a rare outtake from the album’s studio sessions. Released exclusively to The Guardian, the studio take is a bare-bones version of the album’s title opening track, without its signature crowd cheers, applause, guitar licks, or horns. Following the song, conversation can be heard between Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison. The outtake will reportedly be one of many to be included on the album’s 50th anniversary special edition re-release, due out May 26.
