The Daily Beast Wins 3 New York Press Club Journalism Awards

CONGRATS!

The Daily Beast won three of this year’s New York Press Club Journalism Awards, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. For the "entertainment news, internet" category, The Daily Beast senior editor Tim Teeman won for his riveting April 2016 profile of Rose Styron, the wife of late novelist William Styron, entitled, “Rose Styron: The Truth About Life With Her Husband, Literary Legend William Styron.” In the "crime reporting, internet" category, Daily Beast reporter and researcher Brandy Zadrozny won for her series of exposés of self-described “pickup artists” who’d prey on and sexually assault women. And Daily Beast contributor Phoebe Eaton won in the “spot news, internet” category for her piece—titled “Penitents, Pedophiles, Poets, Movie Stars, Silversmiths, and Drug Lords”—on the truly dark side of a normally peaceful Mexican village of Taxco. The awards will be presented at the Club’s Annual Awards & Installation Dinner, Monday, June 5 in Manhattan.
