The rugged, powerful, and long-lasting TARAH Pro headphones are my new favorite headphones.
When it comes to using headphones on the daily, I’d argue the most versatile style is the wireless in-ear construct — wherein your earbuds connect to each by wire but to your device wirelessly by Bluetooth. This might change when manufacturers discover how to pack more power storage and stronger output into truly wireless headphones. But until then, the 14-hour battery life of the highly rated TARAH Pro makes it what I’d say is the best everyday-use headphones set around.
I’ve argued at length about why you should invest in your headphones and the TARAH Pro is no exception. At $160, this isn’t a discount set of headphones — yet, its features and subsequent longevity make it worth the investment. To achieve all of the features the Pro gives you, the Jaybird team fussed less with thinning out the device — which nearly always means less battery time — and instead seemed to focus on giving you a really good experience. After Jaybird sent me a pair of its most recent TARAH Pro model to try out, I fell in love.

With your battery making it through most of your day and a fast charge giving you two hours of playtime after just five minutes in the dock, I’m happy to report the Pros also sound really, really good. I’ve come to expect that from Jaybird’s headphones but it’s still nice to know new models will provide similar experiences. Whether you get them in black, mineral blue, or (my favorite) glacier.
The wire for the headphones is tangle-free and feels like a shoestring, compact and rugged to handle sweat and movement. Speaking of which, the TARAHs are waterproof (emphasis on proof, not resistant) and depending on your use, allow you to switch the way you wear them, whether sport-specific or under-ear for casual use. Like in previous models, the charging segment and your controls for the headphones sit on a small panel underneath one of the earphones, which for me lands it on the side of my neck towards the back of my head — always available to me and easy-to-reach, even if I’m wearing a beanie or enveloped in a scarf.
As for the basics, the TARAHs pair to your phone quickly and can handle phone calls just as well as music and podcasts. Their magnetic charger is an upgraded design from previous models, making it easy to lay the headphones down to charge and later grab them on your way out with just hand one. And magnets on the ends of the headphones let you pop them together either around your neck or in your bag — when they click together, they pause your music to save battery, too.
A perfect headphones solution can handle your busy schedule, frequent scenery changes, the moist reality of fitness, and still deliver incredible sound. If you want all that in one pair of headphones, get the TARAH Pros.
