In case the promise of ample cleavage and sparkly pop music performances hadn’t already won over the American public, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has netted the duo that will hand them ratings gold on a silver platter: Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.
Hadid was already inked to the iconic televised lingerie spectacle last week, which Victoria’s Secret announced with a video of her bursting into giddy, “spontaneous” tears at a casting call.
Of course, a carefully filmed and curated 15-second audition video proves that Hadid actually had to audition (apparently, Victoria’s Secret believes its integrity as a fair employer is at stake).

E! was the first to report today that Jenner would be joining her sister-in-social-media-arms on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk.
Coming a day after Jenner’s star-studded 20th birthday party, E! gushed of the Victoria’s Secret deal for the fastest-rising Kardashian: “Talk about an awesome birthday gift!”
But who are we kidding? The coup is for Victoria’s Secret landing Hadid and Jenner--not the other way around.
Victoria’s Secret hasn’t exactly struggled to nail star power for its shows, but even their execs have to be a little impressed they snagged the two hottest millennial women.
Yes, Hadid and Jenner reportedly won’t be the ones wearing the $2 million fantasy bra (that honor goes to veteran Lily Aldridge). But the dual signing (and in a very close time proximity) of Jenner and Hadid speaks to their domination.
While each independently famous, the two have joined forces in a social media phenomenon—both lucratively symbiotic.
You don’t have to turn back the clock that far to when Jenner was still known best as Kim’s little sister and Hadid was known (if at all) for her family member’s reality TV turn, mom Yolanda Foster on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
But now, the dynamic duo has transformed into a superpower of their own, firing off tornadoes of perfectly manicured selfies.
Hadid and Jenner are part of a powerful coterie of stunning, social media-savvy millennial celebs, a Justice League of sexy Instagramers. Cara Delevingne, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez are among their sepia-tinted cohort—but, as all girls learn in middle school, even among BFFs, a certain duo rises to rule the school.
It’s not just that Hadid and Jenner have anchored some of the most coveted campaigns together. We can’t seem to stop fawning over photos of the pair partying all over the globe.
Hell, Hadid and Jenner even inspired a New York City mural painted by artist Bradley Theodore on the outside wall of the Lower East Side’s Hotel Chantelle.
Perhaps the only thing that can stand in the way of Jenner and Hadid is, well, Jenner and Hadid. Celeb besties are their own form of supernovas--bursting with unbearable brightness that begs all eyeballs on it but with a force that ultimately rips the pair apart. See Miley Cyrus & Selena Gomez or Katy Perry & Taylor Swift for some recent examples. Go back a little further and recall how Jenner’s big sis was once best buds with Paris Hilton—until Hilton thought Kim was too big for her breeches.
Let’s hope those friendship bracelets remain tightly wound around Hadid’s and Jenner’s wrists. But even if they tear apart in a red carpet spat or nightclub fight infamy, at least Hadid and Jenner can say they always had Paris.
