Out today, the Uniqlo x JW Anderson collaboration is ready to make your spring a little bit more cockeyed than before. Slanted hems, mismatched stripes, and a touch of British poise define the new SS19 collection.
The Uniqlo x JW Anderson collections are always filled with a touch of British sensibility mixed with an asymmetrical bend. The bold stripes mixed with the off-kilter hemline make the Asymmetric Hem Short-Sleeve Dress more than just a t-shirt dress. This yearâs collection takes the idea of a âsimple basicâ and skews it (literally). For every straight hemline, thereâs an asymmetrical one. For every simple striped pattern, thereâs an askew one. The JW Anderson x Uniqlo collection plays with our ideas of what basic can be.
The pieces that stand out to me the most are the pants, both menâs and womenâs. On the men's side, thereâs a play of length with relaxed shorts hitting just above the knee and relaxed pants hitting just above the ankle. The womenâs bottoms go short, medium, long with flared shorts, wide-leg cropped pants, and long bell bottom jeans.
Apparel starts at $15.90 for bold, paisley tanks and goes up to $129.90 for a reversible hooded jacket and $149.90 for a reversible trench. Accessories like bags and socks are priced between $5.90 and $39.90.
