A teenage boy found wandering in Kentucky on Wednesday reportedly told police he was Timmothy Pitzen, an Illinois boy who went missing seven years ago. According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Newport Police Chief Tom Collins said police found the teen after someone reported him for “walking around” and not “seem[ing] like he belonged there.” The 14-year-old reportedly told Newport officials that he had escaped his captors and run into Kentucky after being held in a Red Roof Inn by two kidnappers. Police have yet to name or confirm the boy’s identity, and the FBI is involved in the case, along with police from Aurora, Illinois, where Pitzen hailed from. Pitzen was last seen at a Wisconsin water park, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The then 6-year-old went missing in May 2011, and his mother was reportedly later found dead in Rockford, Illinois.
