A remote usually used to control toy cars was employed to detonate the two bombs that exploded during the Boston Marathon, a congressional panel was told Wednesday. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said this piece of evidence supported statements made by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev that he and his brother learned how to build the bomb from the magazine Inspire, which was created by late Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. U.S. officials also said Wednesday that Dzhokhar did not appear to have any weapons on him when he was captured last week while holed up in a boat in Watertown, Massachusetts.
