Women across the globe took to the streets Saturday to declare war on President Trump’s policies and a revolution in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Major demonstrations for the second annual Women’s March took place in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, and Rome, among hundreds of other cities. Many of the events took on a markedly anti-Trump tone, with demonstrators decrying his policies a day after he called for anti-abortion measures at the annual March for Life event. Several hundred protesters, many of them waving “Impeach Trump!” signs, also gathered in front of the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Trump tweeted a message to women demonstrators to “celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success” under his command. It wasn’t clear if he was oblivious to the meaning behind the Women’s March or was simply being facetious. In Rome, actress Asia Argento, one of the first women to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, reminded women of the importance of the #MeToo movement, urging them to say “enough” to “men’s abuses of power.”
