President Trump on Monday morning gave his strongest backing yet to his scandal-struck Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Speaking to reporters outside the United Nations in New York, Trump appeared to completely dismiss the complaints—now made by at least two women. “This could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate for anything. I am with Judge Kavanaugh and I look forward to a vote. For people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago and 30 years ago and have never mentioned it, all of a sudden it happens. In my opinion it’s totally political. It’s totally political.” He added that he would be with Kavanaugh “all the way.” On Sunday, Deborah Ramirez became the second woman to publicly accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct following the initial claims from Christine Blasey Ford that were made public last week.
